Update: we found out the assessments give grade level and much harder, a range to gauge what they know. Our 4th graders math assessment today: Pythagorean’s theorem, volume of a rectangle in 1/2 cm, “what is the sum of 5.3 x 10 to the 5 and 3.8 x 10 to the 4 in scientific notation?”, “which graph shows a system of equations with infinitely many solutions?”. When did 4th grade math turn into college math. I know that math is not my strong suit but does this seem age appropriate for a math assessment? I’m so confused? Anyone else’s 4th grade math assessment go from 4th grade math to college math?
